Base64 Encoder & Decoder
Convert text or a file to Base64, or decode Base64 back - all on your device, nothing is uploaded.

Encode a file instead
Pick any file and get its Base64 string - handy for data URIs and API payloads. Files are read locally.
Good to know
- Text encoding is full UTF-8, so accents and emoji survive the round trip.
- Base64 grows data by about a third - that is the format, not a bug.
- Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it; never use it to hide secrets.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Encoding and decoding run in your browser, for text and files alike.
Why did decoding fail?
The input must be valid Base64 (letters, digits, + and /, with = padding). Whitespace is trimmed automatically; other stray characters break it.
