What hides inside a photo
- Camera make and model, and the software that edited the file.
- The date and time the photo was taken.
- GPS coordinates of where you stood - accurate to a few metres on phone photos.
- Cleaning re-draws the pixels through a canvas, so none of this data survives into the copy.
Does removing EXIF change how the photo looks?
The cleaned copy is re-encoded once, at high quality. Visually it is the same photo; under the hood, the metadata blocks are gone.
Which files does it work on?
Viewing works for JPEG photos with EXIF data (most phone and camera photos). Cleaning works for JPG, PNG and WebP - the copy is rebuilt from pixels only.
Do my photos get uploaded?
No. Reading and cleaning happen entirely in your browser. We have no server that could receive them.
How do I activate Pro?
